Dining For A Cause

Rustic Table Joins Restaurant Support for Miss Ruby’s Kids

Rustic Table, an upscale Southern Food restaurant, will welcome guests on Thursday, September 20th to a “Dining for a Cause” event, which will benefit the early learning program of Miss Ruby’s Kids.

Rustic Table offers an array of delicious entrees, which are described as Low Country cooking done right. Chef Adam Kirby has successfully taken all of his culinary influences and created a surprisingly diverse, Southern menu. Growing up in Atlanta, he had the benefit of learning from two fantastic Southern cooks at a young age, his mother and grandmother. Later, he graduated from Le Cordon Bleu of the Western Culinary Institute and now provides exciting eating experiences for Pawleys Island natives and visitors.

Anne Hardee co-owns Rustic Table with Chef Kirby. She runs the operation and is responsible for the superior service. She taste tests every recipe that makes it to the menu resulting in delicious and eclectic foods. Anne’s standards are exacting and customers notice the details. Anne creates and maintains the Rustic Table’s unique, family friendly, special Southern atmosphere.

Signature lunch items include “The Comfy” fried chicken breast, and a variety of specialty sandwiches including the “Smash Burger,” or in house bbq brisket. Side items include fried green tomatoes or celery root slaw, or sweet tea collards. The varied dinner menu features such favorites as Meatloaf, Country Fried Steak, or Shrimp ‘n’ Gritz plus daily specials.

Lunch is served from 11 – 4 Tuesday through Friday. Dinner is served from 5 – 9:30 Tuesday through Sunday, plus Brunch from 10 – 4 on both Saturday and Sunday. Rustic Table is located on the west side of Route 17 in the Island Shops, 10683 Ocean Hwy. Book parties or make reservations by calling 843-314-0164.

Rustic Table joins a number of area restaurants in “Dining for a Cause” by offering a portion of their day’s proceeds to support the work of Miss Ruby’s Kids, an early childhood literacy program that was founded in 2003. The organization works with two and three-year-old children and their parents/care givers in the home and continues to support the children when they reach school age through the volunteer education mentor program. It is our hope, that all children in Georgetown County will enter school prepared to learn, supported by their families, and will graduate from high school as productive citizens.

Miss Ruby’s Kids looks forward to welcoming friends and neighbors from the community who will dine on Thursday, September 20th to show their support for the early childhood learning program and to thank Rustic Table for its participation.
